Description:

From Forkland Heritage Festival & Revue Website:

In Forkland were proud of our rural past! Each fall we remember it at our Festival by celebrating our heritage with historical displays, crafts, music, food, and more.
Friday, 9 AM to 9 PM; Saturday, 8 AM to 9 PM

Dont miss the highlight of the festival: Our famous Country Supper Theatre which includes a bean supper and drama each evening. The beans start cooking at 6:00 each morning and smell delicious all day. Talented local performers will entertain you while you enjoy all the beans and cornbread you can eat, plus sorghum cake and more, served by local youth. Doors open at 6:30 PM, supper is served at 7 PM, and the drama begins around 8:30 PM.

Watch local crafts being made and purchase some to take home.

Several Forkland artists display their completed works in a gallery setting, and some are on hand painting, sculpting, etc. during the Festival.

Kids of all ages can enjoy creating their own artwork in the art room, and playing old-fashioned games such as marbles, hopscotch, paper dolls, yo-yo, and more near the playground!

Take a hayride to a woodland waterfall which can be explored, or go on a horse-drawn wagon ride through local scenery, and remember to pick up a pumpkin at the harvest booth. Or experience a lovely view from the top of the Forkland Community Center hill by taking a hike on our new Forkland Heritage Trail.

Visit the many historical displays, investigate our log cabin with hosts who are descendents of Abraham Lincolns grandmother, stroll around the steam tractor, and enjoy live music.

Stop to listen to the living history skits where you can meet the ancestors of the people of Forkland being portrayed by their descendents and others. You will get to know people who lived nearby from 1600 to 1950, including a Revolutionary War Soldier, blacksmith, peddler, circuit-riding preacher, old-time banjo picker, turn-of-the-century Irish immigrant, and other colorful characters!

Bid in our silent auction featuring our annual Forkland-designed, Amish-made quilt and other locally produced and donated items, and dont forget to enter for the Festival door prize!

Research your genealogy in the family history room and Forkland Lincoln Museum.

Enjoy the all-you-can-eat $5 pancake breakfast that starts at 8 AM Saturday.

Eat country-style food from the vendor stands offering meals and take-home treats, such as chicken, pork chops, country ham and biscuits, pizza, burgers, fruit cobbler, homemade cake, ice cream, popcorn, and cider, plus packaged sorghum, honey, breads, and cakes.
