Description:

From Garvin Gate Blues Festival Website:

The Garvin Gate Blues Festival is the largest neighborhood street music festival in Louisville, Kentucky and the public is invited. The free event is presented by Four Roses Bourbon and The Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association and is sponsored by Louisville Metro Government District 6 Councilman David James. Proceeds from sponsorships and vendor sales benefit the Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association and the Old Louisville Preservation District.

A celebration of the blues and the arts, The Garvin Gate Blues Festival is held the second weekend of October, and attracts a multi-racial, intergenerational audience. The two-day event takes place this year on Friday, October 10, from 6:30 - 11:15 pm, and Saturday, October 11, from 2 - 11:15 pm at Garvin Place and Oak Street, between 4th & 6th Streets, two miles south of the Ohio River and one mile south Broadway and downtown Louisville.

The Garvin Gate Blues Festival crafts area on Garvin Place is set among a block of 1880-90s Victorian homes, on a tree-lined street, with approximately 50 vendors selling jewelry, pottery, paintings, African art, and a host of artisan oddities. This is also where you'll find the food and beer booths, and our acoustic music stage. All our booths are open late, which helps make this festival a very unique Old Louisvlle event.

Due to the large crowds we ask that you leave your pets at home, service dogs only, and please, no coolers, cans, or bottles in the festival area. Supporting our parking lot on Fourth Street, and food and drink vendors within the festival area on Garvin Place, goes a long way to help pay for this free public event. Thank you.
